Composite Allowance for GDS – A detailed report
The Composite Allowance would include allowances for followings:-
(a) Rent for housing GDS Post Office as per standard prescribed by the Department for BPM only.
(b) Rent for accommodation for mandatory stay of GDSs in the Post Village / delivery jurisdiction of Post Office and in urban areas.
(c) Office Maintenance Charges which will include white washing, repairs & maintenance of premise, furniture, cash chest, Almirahs and other items etc for GDS Post Office (BPM only).
(d) Stationery Charges.
(e) Electricity Usage Charges for GDS Post Office (BPMs only)
(f) Mobile telephone usage charges.
(g) Boat Allowance / Cycle Maintenance Allowance / Transport Allowance for GDSs.
(h) Hospitality charges such as provision of drinking water for customers / beneficiaries (For BPM only).
(i) Other miscellaneous / incidental charges to manage office / work / compensation for detentions due to late running of trains etc.
The Composite Allowance for different categories of GDSs working in the GDS Post Offices will be paid as per the conditions and at rate as given in Table 11.3.

The Composite Allowances for Dak Sevaks (DSs) working in the Departmental Offices in different cities and towns will be paid at rate as given in Table 11.4

The amount of allowances will be increased by 25% when the DA crosses 50% so that the allowances which are fixed now do not become ineffective / insufficient after few years.
